Packing, Ohh Packing....

After being here, there, and everywhere, I added one more stop on my belt of my "American/Canadian Tour." This last weekend involved a trip to Chicago for some quality family time. What with the new baby on the way (Wayne and Natali), David and Charlotte leaving for a month in Asia, my trip overseas, oh and Amanda and Pete getting engaged(!!!), it was definitely the weekend for celebrations!

Now that the fun is over, its down to business for me which ultimately involves packing and last minute runs to Target. As Mama G says, "I think I'm having dejavu of being in Target." Yes, you are correct Beverley, we have been to Target more than I want to admit.

At first, I thought I would leave the packing until Wednesday. That wasn't happening if I wanted to sleep at night. Instead I decided to put on my big girl panties and start packing in advance. It's a new and strange concept, this whole non-procrasitination; I'm still getting used to it.

So, the packing has commenced and I've realized something; I have way too many freaking clothes!! I mean, I have clothes coming out from everywhere! I've been playing my own little version of Top Model. "I have eight great sweaters in front of me, but only room for seven." I would then try on each top, do my fieriest pose (American television is poisoning me) and ultimately decide if it is "in" or if it is "out."

Next up will be a shoe roulette. Wish me luck!

Home Sweet Home

Best view at the cottage.

Moose and I enjoying the fresh air.

Father and son. He's almost 90 you know!

Pops surveying the boathouse in hopes for a good spring.

Never too old for sparklers.

View from mid-hill at Sir Sam's.

My favorite boy.

Now that I'm a duel-y (i.e. Canamerican) I figure both Olympic teams will be chasing me down because of my outstanding skills.

It's the Final Countdown

As of today, I have 23 more days of United States living. To say I am excited is an understatement. The past two weekends have kicked off my "Tour of Cities-US Version," beginning with a visit to Lexington, KY to see my grandparents and cousin, Justin.

Things I learned in Lexington:
1. 78 degrees is far to hot for comfort.
2. Lays Sweet Southern Hot BBQ chips are not for the faint of heart.
3. Three vodka-waters a day will surely keep the doctor away.
4. Getting good grades is always noted and applauded.
5. Switzerland is the best stance on everything.

Yesterday night I braved flying during the Superbowl on my return from New York City; 3.5 days to spend time with an old and dear friend (enter teeny-bopper music).

Things I learned in New York:
1. I will always enjoy a BudLight and a hot dog at a sporting event over anything else.
2. Twitter (or Tweeter, as Piper refers to it) and Facebook will be the demise of face to face contact.
3. If you plan on someone letting you down, chances are they will.
4. It may not be where you live, but it is how you spend your time.
5. Never assume that because you are eating at an Italian restaurant, the people are Italian; chances are they speak Spanish (and will indulge you to converse only in Spanish).
6. Never let your friend trump you in drinking bottles of wine because you'll end up with spaghetti on the floor.

Next up is a week in Canada. Moose is super excited! Can't wait for a wing-ding night and some ketchup chips!
